(Megalithic complexes of northern Russia: stone circle, stone rows, dolmen and perched boulders)
Lapland season - expedition organized by the author of this site in Kareliya and Kola peninsula to ancient stones of russian Lapland.
In northern part of Russia the plenty ancient megaliths settles down. Here there are many thousand stones named "dolmen", "perched boulders", "flyttblock", "liggande hona", "tripod rocks", balancing rocks and "rock on rock". There are designs from stones - circles, squares, line. This ancient stones in northern Russia name "seid".

The purpose of expedition was study these megaliths, and also job above documentary film (film director V.Baronov, Saint-Petersburg). The researches many megaliths were carried out, more than 1500 photo are made, the gaugings are carried out and the of information on radiating and magnetic anomalies are received. The route of expedition ran through national park Paanajarvi in northern Kareliya and in northern part of the Kola peninsula: from border with Norway, Murmansk city and to Keyvi region. The information on designs, forms, statement of stones is assembled. There are mentions of visiting megalithic complexes and rituals connected with megaliths of the skold - people (Kolta-sami).
